February 6, 1932 – August 27, 2012

Jack was born in Trail and lived his entire life in the Trail area. He worked at Cominco and retired in 1990 after 40 years of service. Jack was an avid hockey and ball player in his youth and was recognized by his friends as a true sports statistician. Later he enjoyed umpiring fastball and was considered to be an excellent handicapper in horseracing. Jack was good friends with legendary softball pitcher Eddie Feigner and is recognized in Eddie’s softball video and book. He was also noted as having a hockey fight with the daredevil Evel Knievel in Butte, Montana. Jack reported that he “cleaned up” the high flying motorcyclist who was playing hockey prior to becoming famous.

Jack is pre-deceased by his father John, mother Francis and brother Skip. He is survived by his Sister in law Joan (Rossland), his nephew Dan, wife Laura and children Taylor, Hannah and CJ (Kamloops), his nephew Terry, wife Dee and children John and Ali (Rossland) and many cousins.

At Jack’s request there will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers please send donations in Jack’s memory to the Pines Restoration Fund at http://www.pinesbiblecamp.com/. Jack’s great nephews and nieces attended and enjoyed the camp that was devastated by a windstorm earlier this year.
