McMahon: John James Bernard (Bernie) passed away peacefully at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on December 22, 2010. he was born March 1, 1927 in Blackie, AB.

Bernie worked at Cominco for 44 years. He was active in sports, promoting baseball in the Beaver Valley. Bernie was also active in the Beaver Valley Lions Club for several years. He belonged to the Hospice program for more than 30 years. Bernie also loved hunting, fishing, golfing and gold panning.

He was predeceased by his youngest son Tim in 2007 and his loving wife Jackie in 2009. Bernie is survived by his sons Michael (Anna May), Patrick (Sherry), and Clint; his grandchildren Jacqueline, Kaley, Jama, Cassandra, Amanda, Naomi, Jesse, and Jake; as well as one great-grandchild Arianna Ryan.

A memorial service will be held at the Gateway Pentecostal Church in Trail on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Tom Stastny officiating. Burial will follow at the Fruitvale Memorial Cemetery. Bill Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.
