John McFarland of Rossland passed away peacefully at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on June 17, 2015. John was born to the late John and Ethel McFarland on August 15, 1950 in Rossland, and is predeceased by his brother Steve.
John joined Teck when he was 18 and was an employee there for 40 years, recently retiring in 2010. John enjoyed his 2 grandsons to the moon and back as well as hockey and baseball, and making homemade wine.
John is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Diane, sons Aaron (Lindsay), Scott (Jaime), and grandsons Brayden and Casey, his brother Dan and family and extended family in Kelowna.
Upon John’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of John’s friends will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Rossland Royal Canadian Legion Branch #14.
