John Richard (Dick) McNaughton
1930 ~ 2017
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Dad, John Richard (Dick) McNaughton, on March 14, 2017 at the age of 86. He is predeceased by his loving wife and best friend Joan in 2005, and his brother Peter in 2004.
He is survived by his daughters Lisa and Cheryl (Alex Fong), also his grandchildren Jason, Devon (Jen), Haleigh and Richard Solnik, as well as many special nieces and their families.
Dick moved his family from Trail to Kelowna in 1972 when he joined Odlum Brown as an investment advisor. He enjoyed a long career there, retiring in 2009. Retirement afforded Dick more time to spend at the Kelowna Golf & Country Club enjoying his favorite hobby. He met many of his best friends through golfing at the club. Dick was an active member of the Gyro Club in his younger years and had many fond stories to tell of his days in Gyro.
He was always a source of love and support to his family.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 31st at 2 o’clock PM at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna with a reception to follow at the Kelowna Golf & Country Club, 1297 Glenmore Rd., Kelowna.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Terry Fox Foundation would be appreciated.
