Apr 24, 1930 - Jan 4, 2018
It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Norman Chapdelaine on January 4, 2018.

Norm was born in Forget, SK where he lived with his parents and 4 brothers. Norm came to Trail in 1948 to work at Cominco until retiring in 1989. It is in these early years he met his lovely wife Delphine and married in 1953. A kind and caring man he cherished his time with his two children Kevin and Karen and his grandchildren Nicole, Natasha, Colton and Cameron.

Starting as a hobby, Norm and Del began raising chinchillas which led to numerous awards with Norm being recognized as a top consultant and judging authority in Canada. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, boating, camping and making wine. An avid square dancer Norm spent many hours practicing his moves and enjoyed the company of his lifelong friends that he met through dance.

Always a craftsman, Norm spent countless relaxing moments creating priceless pieces of woodwork which his family will cherish forever.

He is survived by his wife Del, son Kevin (wife Margaret), sister Annette, brother John and grandchildren, Nicole, Natasha, Colton and Cameron.

He was predeceased by daughter Karen, brothers Leo, Rodger and Andy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Hii and the staff at Rosewood.

Cremation has taken place, there will be a family memorial at a later date. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
