June 20, 1943 - December 30, 2018
We sadly announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather Joseph (Joe) Cook, who passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 30, 2018 at Columbia View Lodge, with his loving family by his side.
Joe was born in Vancouver on June 20, 1943. He moved to Trail with his parents, Joe and Irene, where he grew up and stayed. Joe became a Steel Fabricator with Cominco in 1964, where he retired after 37 years from a job he loved. Joe enjoyed life to the fullest, be it travelling with his family as they grew, or later with his wife Ellie. When he wasn't camping or travelling, he spent the winter months downhill and cross country skiing with the OBPT.
Joe will be missed, and always lovingly remembered, by his wife Ellie of 51 years, his daughter Lisa Doskoch (Larry), grandchildren; Pablo, Nicolas and Adam, his daughter Joanne Cook (Sean Jones), grandchild Mitchell, also by many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Irene Cook, his two sisters Kathleen and Lynda, and his in-laws Elsa and Jimmy Tod.
An Open House for family and friends will be held at the Trail Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #11 on Friday, January 4, 2019 between 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm with a eulogy being shared at 3:00 pm for those who wish to attend. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
