Major: Kathalene Harriet (nee Fess) of Fruitvale passed away January 28, 2011 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. She was born December 4, 1933 in Selkirk, ON. Kay was the daughter of William and Mildred Fess.
She is survived by her loving husband John of 55 years, her daughters Cheryl (John), Wendy (Gary) and Amy (Chris), as well as her sister Brenda and brother Billy. Kay is also survived by her grandchildren Ivy, Carter, Cassandara, Abra and Colin. She was predeceased by her son Lawrence and grandchild Anjelica.
Kay enjoyed spending time in the backyard working in her flower gardens and feeding the many birds that would visit. She kept up with the news back in Ontario with her long phone calls with her sister Brenda and dear friend Sophie.
Interment will take place at a later date. Al Grywacheski of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.
