In loving memory ~

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Keith Milburn Ahlstrom, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who peacefully passed away with family by his side on March 9th at the age of 70.

Keith was born on April 6th, 1954 in Vancouver, BC. He moved to Trail as a young child where he continued his schooling before starting work at Cominco in 1973. He worked there for 34 years until he was forced to retire in 2007 due to a massive stroke.

Keith was predeceased by his loving mother, Mary Ahlstrom and his Grandpa Frank Balkovec. Keith is survived by his loving wife, Lori, of almost 46 years (and caregiver of the last 18 years). Also his children, Ethan (Kim), Marley, Aynsley (Dylan) and grandchildren, Kailyn, Cole and Morgan. He is also survived by his sisters, Sandra and Jeanne.

Throughout his life, dad took great pride in keeping his vehicles immaculate, including his 1970's GMC pick-up truck. As a skilled painter by trade, Keith thoroughly enjoyed painting all our family's homes. He took pride in his work and it showed. He enjoyed NASCAR, hockey, and of course, going to baseball tournaments with his son.

Special thanks to Dr. Eric Dalla Lana for his years of care and support. And also to Dr. Andrew Hamilton and the palliative care nurses at KBRH.

The family sincerely thanks everyone for their kind condolences, thoughtful cards, beautiful flowers, delicious meals and heartfelt baking. Your support and generosity have brought us great comfort during this difficult time.

There will be no service, but as an expression of sympathy, if you wish, you can make a donation in Keith's name to the charity of your choice.

Keith will be greatly missed by his mother-in-law, Pauline Jorgensen and his sister-in-laws, Marlyn, Kathleen and Melissa.

Uncle Keith will always be lovingly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews for his silly sense of humour.

We love you Dad.
