June 5, 1931 - July 21, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Douglas Davis. Ken will be forever remembered by family and dear friends. He is survived by his daughter-in-law (Carmen), his grandchildren (Jordon, Laura, Andy, Mitchell), great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ken is predeceased by his parents, Tom and Dorothy, his wife Beryl, his sons Tom and Doug, his brothers Don and Wiggy, his sister Dorothy, and nephew Donald Hunt. It brings us peace knowing that they will all be together again.
Ken was born on June 5th, 1931. He attended school in Rossland and worked for the Department of Highways for over 30 years - retiring as the mechanical shop foreman. On March 7th, 1953, he married the love of his life, Beryl. Together, they raised their two boys in Rossland.
Ken was a gifted athlete. He played ball growing up, then turned his attention to hockey and Lacrosse. Ken played forward for the Famous Rossland Redmen Team from 1953 - 57. Together with his two boys, Ken learned to downhill ski, water ski, cross country ski and snowshoe. Many fun summers were spent at the family cottage on Christina Lake.
Following his retirement from the Department of Highways, Ken enjoyed fine woodworking. He made numerous wooden deer ornaments at Christmas, whirly birds and animals for neighbours, friends, and his grandchildren.
Spending his entire life in Rossland, Ken's knowledge of the people and history of the area was second to none. He had an amazing memory and was always happy to entertain by sharing stories of days gone by.
