June 28, 1934 - November 27, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Gary announce his passing on November 27, 2019. He was born June 28, 1934 in Rossland where he happily spent his entire 85 years.
Dad had always loved the outdoors. He would spend his summers camping, fishing, cutting firewood, water skiing and sitting around the campfire with friends and family at Christina Lake. In the fall dad could be found picking huckleberries (with the bears), and hunting above his grandparents ranch in Grand Forks. In the winter dad would hike Old Glory to spend the day skiing the face and visiting his friends at the weather station. When at home, he could be found outside in his yard and garden where he would spend many enjoyable hours. Dad worked at Cominco for nearly 40 years as a millwright.
Gary will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 55 years Fran, his daughters Kim (Kent), Karen (Randy) and granddaughters Christine, Melissa and Jessica.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Michael Skully, nurse Ailsha Gray and the 3rd floor nurses for the compassionate care he received.
Our family will be having a celebration of life in the spring of 2020. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Servicesâ„¢ has been entrusted with arrangements.
