With great sorrow we announce Kris passed away at the Trail Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He leaves his beloved wife Elsie (Lois) who shared 68 years of married life with him.
Kris lived a long full life. He and Lois raised a family, traveled the world and loved to camp and spend time with their many friends and relatives. Kris' family was very important to hm. He was a wonderful dad and grandfather. A lifelong Lutheran, Kris served his church in many offices. His faith was an important part of his life.
Kris worked at Cominco his entire career starting in Kimberley B.C. in 1947. He was an auditor based out of Trail for many years and travelled to properties across Canada and the USA. He was also based out of Yellowknife and Saskatoon prior to his return to Trail where he was the Supervisor of Staff Pay and Records until his retirement after 40 years of service.
Kris is survived by his wife Elsie (Lois), his daughters Mona (Joe) and Clara (Gary) as well as two grandchildren Alison (Adam) and Sean (Dawn) and three great grandchildren Amelia, Lilly and Vaughn. From a family of ten, he was predeceased by his parents John and Gudrun, his sister Valgerdur and his brothers Torfi, Gisli, John, Albert and Olafur. He is survived by his brothers Clarence, Marvin and Lawrence and his many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday June 16 at Peace Lutheran Church 2001 2nd Ave, Trail B.C. followed by a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choice is requested.
