Passed away July 2, 2011 in Trail Regional Hospital following a long, hard- fought battle with cancer.

Larry was born March 24, 1948 in New Westminster BC. He moved to the West Kootenay’s in 1970 on a work assignment. By the late 70’s he was hired by the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary – where he enjoyed the remainder of his career and retired as Chief Administrative Officer after 32 years.

Larry was happy and outgoing and loved everyone around him to be happy. He never once complained during his lengthy illness. With each hurdle he would simply say “it is what it is – we will fight the fight”.

You could often find Larry in his favourite chair listening to classic country music, watching sports; or on the golf course enjoying a game with his beloved friends. Larry was an avid golfer and a long time board member of the Rossland Trail Country Club.

He loved his cats, Mike and Mika.

Larry was predeceased by his brother, Jim; his mother, Isobel; and father-in-law Art Powell.

He is survived by his wife, Beth; step-son JJ (Heather) Williams; step-daughter Kelly (Matt) Tweedie; grandsons Jacob and Charlie Williams; brother Victor (Mattie) Robinson & their children; mother-in-law Margaret Powell.

A celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 at 2:00 at the Riverbelle at 1350 Esplanade Avenue, Trail, BC. Bill Clark with Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to the Trail SPCA at 7700 Highway 3B, Trail, BC V1R 2L9.
