Laura Blizard, a long-time resident of the Trail area, passed away after a lengthy, courageous battle on Tuesday the 24th of January at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. She was born in 1940 in Minto, New Brunswick.

Laura moved from Toronto to BC in 1981, she volunteered for Salmo community services and the Canadian Cancer Society. Laura spent several years as a business owner which involved a dress shop, Bakery, Restaurants, and Pizza parlour. Laura was a kind and giving person. Talking to any of her friends or relatives, she was well known for always putting other people’s needs before hers. Laura had a green thumb, and a great love for flowers and gardening. She had a wonderful smile that could light up any room.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John Blizard, children; Rosa (Chris), Peggy, Parrish (Kerrie), sisters; Nel and Elaine, and brother; Noel. Laura is also survived by numerous grand-children, nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by her daughter Lisa Lebinski.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Bart van Roijen, Celebrant. Alexandra Butts of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
