Lea Balano, a lifetime resident of Trail, passed away peacefully at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital with family members by her side on September 22, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Nick and parents Antonio and Eni Matteucci.
Lea was born on August 11, 1923 and enjoyed cooking, baking and travelling. She is survived by her four siblings; Elvira Shelley, Marilyn Halliday, Melinda Bryan (Pat); brother Michael (Phyllis) Mateucci; son Barry (Virginia) and their children Lt. Colonel Allen Henderson (Shellie) and their children Hanna and Ayden; daughter Kelli Petragallo (Tony) and their children Presley and Grayson; son Larry (Wendy); grandson Andrew Archer (Julia) and their children Owen and Ainsley and son Cory (Nicole) Balano.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Parish in Trail at 10:30am on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
