It is with great sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of Len on April 19, 2012 in Kelowna, BC. Len was born on January 21, 1959 in Victoria, BC.
Len is survived by his loving family; Maureen and Matthew (Patches), his parents Emerson and Marg Eckersley, his sister JoAnn (Cliff), his niece Cindy (Clint), nephew Adam (Chelsea), niece Carrie, great-nieces Emma and Brianna, aunt Bette Eckersley, cousins Tannis and Mike (all of Kimberley). He was predeceased by his sister Marty Westgate, uncle Jack Eckersley and all of his grandparents (Eckersley, Johanson and Muirs).
Len was an employee of Cominco since 1977, working first in Kimberley then transferring to Trail in May 1988. He enjoyed spending time with his family and went back to Kimberley for July Feast every year. He also enjoyed movies, computers, fishing, friends and dining out. He had a love for his pets, all animals and strays. Len fed all animals (even humans and raccoons).
A Celebration of Len’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall at 2141 Columbia Avenue, Trail on Thursday, April 26, 2012 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
