Levinia "Vin" Elizabeth Thompson, nee Roberts, age 93, passed away Friday, July 27 at Columbia View Lodge in Trail. She was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on April 24, 1919. The family moved to Trail in the 1920s where her father developed a dairy in East Trail. Vin married Bill Thompson in 1944 and made her home in Rossland. She is predeceased by Bill and her only son Robert VanTassel. She is survived by her brother Fred Roberts of Burnaby, two sisters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Vin was talented at any hobby she took an interest in - sewing, music, ceramics, and painting. Her last years were spent at Columbia View Lodge. She enjoyed their activity program and made friends with many other residents. Cremation has taken place and a family gathering to inter her remains will be held later. The family appreciates the care and attention given to Vin by the dedicated Columbia View Staff.
