August 3, 1926 - August 23, 2022

In loving memory ~
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Lina (Morassut) Zol, on August 23, 2022.
Lina was born in Sesto al Reghena, Italy, on Aug. 3, 1926.
She emigrated to Canada in May 1950 along with her husband Giovanni (John) and two daughters, Amelia and Ivana. She worked hard at making a new life in her adopted country alongside her husband. She loved to cook, bake, garden and spend time with family and friends. There was always food on the table to feed anyone who dropped in. She delighted in sharing numerous pots of coffee and cookies with her guests.
Lina was predeceased by her husband Giovanni in 1988 and spent the next 26 years in the family home in Genelle tending her extensive garden, knitting, cooking, mowing her large yard on the ride on mower and shoveling snow in the winters until her health declined. She moved into Rosewood Manor in 2014 and spent 6 happy years making new friends and enjoying an easier life. In 2020 she moved to Poplar Ridge Pavilion until the end of her life surrounded by new friends and a caring staff.
She was predeceased by Giovanni, her parents in Italy, her sister Marcellina (Morassut) Marchi, her brothers Erminio Morassut, Pietro Morassut and Tony Morassut.
Lina is survived by daughters Amelia (Jerry) Moloci and Ivana (Larry) Rhodes; her grandsons Jason (Kelly)Moloci, Chris(Patricia)Moloci, Ryan (Mariko)Rhodes and Travis Rhodes. Her pride and joy were her cherished 7 great grandchildren, Chanel, Jared, Savannah, Alex and Bridgette Moloci; Molly and Grady Rhodes. Also surviving are Lina's two sisters-in- law Norina Cescon and Maria Morassut, and nieces and nephews.
A private family service was held. An interment followed at Mountainview Cemetery. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
The family would like to express our appreciation and thanks to the special people at Rosewood Manor and Poplar Ridge Pavilion for their exceptional care.
Special thanks to Father Francis dela Cruz and Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral & Cremation Services™ for their caring and support.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Lina's memory to Poplar Ridge Pavilion, (Rehabilitation Equipment), 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC V1R 4M1.
