Grieve, Lois Alma — born October 5, 1939 passed away peacefully on September 2, 2013 with her family at her side. Lois was born in Trail and grew up in Fruitvale on the Duncan Dairy Family Farm. She attended Business College and graduated in 1957. Lois’s working career included jobs with Ruben Burge Motors, Okanagan Equipment, Moynes Motors, and the Bay before settling at John’s Insurance Agency. She worked 19 years as an insurance agent before retiring in 1995 to spend her remaining years with her loving family.

Over the years, Lois enjoyed bowling, curling, golfing and cross country skiing with dear friends. Some of her hobbies included ceramics, crafts, scrapbooking and crocheting, including time volunteering at the local Thrift Store. Lois also enjoyed many years researching and compiling the Duncan family ancestry book.

Lois is survived by her devoted husband, Dan of 52 years, children; Wayne (Anne) Grieve, Glen (Ali) Grieve and Wendy (John) Robertsen.

Her grandchildren, who were the light of her life include; Robyn, Karlin, Cassandra, Shannon, Jenny, Sarah, Jayde and great granddaughter Madilyn.

Her surviving siblings are Walter (Doreen) Duncan, Jack (Lil) Duncan, Connie (Larry) LaFace, and Heather (Ray) Bye as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lois was blessed with a large and loving family whose ongoing and continued support will always be remembered and cherished. Our memories of Lois; wife, grandmother, sister and friend, will live on deep in our hearts and she will be forever missed.

A memorial service will take place on Thursday September 5, at 1:00 p.m. at the Beaver Valley United Church in Fruitvale. Donations may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.
