October 11, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorna Wray Nutini (Lepper), on October 11, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Dominic (Don), and her children Cheryl (Mike), Amy, Megan (Mark) and Brian (Rena) and great-grandchildren Aja, Violet and Isla; Donald; Gary (Teresa), Jillian (Zach), Jason (Nikki); Ken (Nancy), Nicole and Kevin; daughter-in-law Barbra, Renee and Alana; Lorna (Trevin), Logan, Eric (Jordyn) and Chiara; Joanne (Rob), Gemma and Declan.

Lorna will also be greatly missed by her brothers Merv (Anne), Gerald (Janet), and Rey (Jeanne) and her many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Aubrey and Marion Lepper, in-laws Giulio and Iolanda Nutini and Selma and Buzz Nutini and her beloved son, Patrick.

Lorna grew up in Irricana, Alberta, and she came to the Trail Tadanac Hospital to start her nursing career. She met her husband Don shortly after moving to Trail, and they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary a few days ago. During their life together, she and Don were blessed with 7 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

She was one of the nurses who started the Home Nursing Program in Trail and she later became a Home Support Program supervisor. She was active in CWL, Girl Guides, Home of Champions Society and the Sisters of Colombo. Lorna was instrumental in compiling the stories for the Trail of Memories book, which was printed in 1997. She was passionate about her work with the Trail Historical Society and Communities in Bloom. Lorna was Trail/Warfield Citizen of the Year for 1997. She loved being at the Christina Lake cabin and travelling with Don to many destinations especially Hawaii and Italy.

A special thanks goes out to the people who supported Lorna's family to help her remain at home as she wished. Thank you to Dr. Blair Stanley and Dr. L. Scotland, Greater Trail Hospice Society, Marcie Alexander, Trail Home Support and Home Care OT and Nurses (especially Deb). A huge thank you to our nurse/sister/angel Teresa Nutini who organized the supports, so we could all work together to help mom spend her last days at home as peacefully as possible.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 19, 2018 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2012 - 3rd Avenue, Trail, BC at 10:30 am with Celebrant Father Francis dela Cruz. Reception will follow immediately at the Riverbelle, 1350 Esplanade Avenue, Trail, BC.
