In loving memory ~
Margaret "Maggie" Deadmarsh passed away peacefully at the age of 91 years. She will be dearly missed by her three children: Glenn Ford, Leslie (Greg) Comis, Stewart (Sheri) Ford and beloved grandchildren Annika & Mitchell Ford. She will also never be forgotten by her cherished Montreal family: sister & brother-in-law Florence & Edward Patenaude and their fun-loving family; Greg & Stella (Stephen "Stevers", Michael, Richard & Brianna (Calen), JoAnn (Alan), and Geoff & Manal (Raphael & Romie). Margaret was predeceased by her dear husband Allan Deadmarsh in 2014.
Margaret was born in Montreal, Quebec to parents Anthony & Ellen MacDonald. She enjoyed a happy childhood with sister Florence. After high school, Margaret performed in a roller- skating troop - travelling throughout Europe and the USA for a year. She then married John Ford and lived for 20 years on military bases in Lachine Quebec, Trenton Ontario, and Cold Lake Alberta. The family moved to Fruitvale, BC in 1971 and lived on the Ford family farm. Margaret worked for several years at the ATCO lumber mill, then in the dietary department at the Trail Hospital.
Margaret's main passion was singing and performing with the Rossland Light Opera Players, which she enjoyed for over 30 years! She also sang in 3 different choirs at once: Italian Choir, Harmony Choir, and the OLPH Catholic Church choir.
Margaret and her beloved husband Allan Deadmarsh enjoyed a fun retirement together- curling, cross-country skiing, bocce, and dancing. They especially loved camping with friends and family.
Margaret loved living for the last 7 years at Mountainside Village in Fruitvale. She was known there for leading the singing & dancing, crocheting gifts for other residents, and for dressing in funny costumes for special days & events. She loved laughter and was always the life of the party!
A big heartfelt thank you to the entire Poplar Ridge staff, the 3rd floor hospital staff and all the home care aids who helped "Maggie" through the last challenging months. You are all invaluable "special care angels".
Please join us in a memorial service which will be held at the Holy Trinity Church, 2012 3rd Av Trail, BC on April 12, 2025 at 11am. Luncheon to follow.
