March 17, 1923 - February 16, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mamma, Nonna and Bisnonna Maria who passed away on February 16, 2020 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. Maria was born in Capannori, Lucca, Italy on March 17, 1923. She arrived in Halifax in 1952 and continued on to Trail to meet her husband Nick.
Maria and Nick made many trips to Europe, Mexico, Hawaii and the United States. She flew to Vancouver often to visit her family. She took great pride in her family and home and was proud to be a member of the Sorelle Colombo.
She is survived by her daughter Amelia (Walter) sons; Alfred (Rossella) and Nick, grandchildren; Michael (Terrie) Parisotto, Dr. Nicholas (Astra) Marchi, Amelia Marchi, Nicole (Nyall) Marchi, Bryan (Lydia) Marchi, and Alexander (Victoria) Marchi and great-grandson Noah Parisotto also numerous nephews and nieces in Italy and one special great niece Fabiola in Germany. Predeceased by her parents Raffaello and Letizia Marchi, husband Nicolao (Nick), grandson Jim, brother Angelo, sister-in-law Giuliana and nephew Alberto.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Entombment followed at the Trail Mausoleum.
