In Loving Memory ~
Marian Elaine (Berg) Veysey was born December 6, 1942 in Creston, BC, the second eldest child of Alfred Phillip and Margaret Ella (Gregg) Berg and passed away peacefully as she slept surrounded by her family in the home of her daughter in Montrose, BC on April 29, 2022.
Marian made her open choice to serve God in 1958 and continued in the home Bible studies until her passing.
She obtained her Psychiatric Nursing diploma from Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam, BC and Registered Nursing diploma from St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC. She nursed in a variety of facilities, including the Riverview Hospital, Yellowknife Correctional Institute, and Skeena View Hospital, finally coming to work in the Trail Hospital in the Daly Pavillion when it opened in 1970, and then spending the majority of her working career on the Medical floor.
She was greatly loved by all she worked with and many patients fondly remember her kindness and comforting nature.
She enjoyed many activities, including sewing, crafting, entertaining, and visiting friends, but nothing was more important to her in recent years than caring for her twin grandchildren Reuben and Sarah.
She is survived by her daughter Amy (Lee) Hillaby, twin grandchildren Reuben and Sarah of Montrose, BC, brother Donald (Sylvia) Berg of Creston, BC, sister Ruth Berg of Cranbrook, BC, her best friend and cousin Damaris (Cameron) Good of Kamloops, BC, aunt Betty Gregg of Langley, BC and a large extended family and many friends.
She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Gerry in January 2022.
Cremation has taken place and she will be buried with her husband and infant son Leonard in the Fruitvale Cemetery. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore that I can do,
or any kindness that I can show to any fellow-creature, let me do it now;
let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again. -- Stephen Grellet.
