Marianne (Snookie) Christianson passed away peacefully in Victoria on February 6th, 2021 at the age of 70. Marianne is predeceased by her mother, Florence, and her father, Chris Christianson.
Marianne is lovingly remembered by her brothers, John (Mary) Christianson of Nanaimo and Walt (Julia) Christianson of Victoria, as well as nephews, Mark (Rhian) of Nanaimo (Hannah, Hayden); Scott (Tina) of Nanaimo (Makayla, Theo); Tyler and Zac; and so many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly.
Marianne was born in Rossland, BC.
After graduating from Rossland High School, she lived and worked in Calgary before returning to Rossland in 1975, where she worked at Cominco. In 1990, Marianne moved to Nanaimo, where she worked as the manager at AnswerPlus, then at Tricor Transportation Inc in charge of all freight moving throughout North America.
Marianne was a committed, hard working employee throughout her life. Most of all though, she was a genuine, loving, and fiercely loyal family member and friend. She cherished every moment spent with the people she loved, from a simple afternoon of coffee and chatting to large and small gatherings at birthdays and Christmas.
Marianne also loved to give and never missed an opportunity to do so, getting so much joy from seeing others happy. It is difficult to put into words just how truly special Marianne was and how much she will be missed.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Bucksteg and Dr. Booth in Nanaimo, the two Renal Units in Nanaimo, Marianne's community at Ocean Walk, and all of the nurses and doctors at 3NW at Royal Jubilee Hospital and at Transitions in Nanaimo.
