Marj was born to Percy and Hazel Williams in Trail, BC on June 19, 1937. She is survived by her children Bob (Penny) Hutton of Port Alberni, Linda (Kenny) Hascarl of Nakusp, Gary (Crystal) Larder of Nakusp, grandchildren Wayne, Tara, Deanna, Keith, Mike, Jen, Kaelina, Talasa, Carmen, Maija. Great grandchildren Patience, Joshua, Ashlene, and Dominik. Her siblings Jean, Kenny, Carol, Roy, Keith and Joyce. Also, her step-siblings Jim and Dolly.

Marj was predeceased by her daughter Dale Grattan, grandson Clayton and siblings Ed, Irene, Norman and Annie. Also, by her husbands Fred, Joe, and Harold.

Marj spent her childhood years in Nelson and Ymir. She lived in Vancouver, Burton, Nakusp, Trail and most recently, Castlegar. She worked in a sawmill, at the Burton School, as a cook in logging camps, Halcyon Home, and Columbia View Lodge.

Marj was a girl guide leader, an avid sewer and crafter. One of her proudest accomplishments was the work she did producing the history book 'Whistle Stops along the Columbia River Narrows'. She loved her time volunteering and belonged to many community groups. She loved her many trips with good friends over the years. Favourite activities were casino visits, bingo, and mushroom picking with her bestie Olive.

Marjorie Joan Kiendy passed away on September 27, 2018. By her request there will not be a service. Donations in her memory can be made to the Nakusp Youth Center PO Box 1025, Nakusp, BC V0G 1R0.
