Hearn: Mary (nee Nygaard) of Salmo passed away in Nelson, BC on February 24, 2011. She was born November 22, 1922 in Pollockville, AB.

Mary enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, and baking. She was a member of Salmo Women’s Institute and the Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of her church since 1950.

Mary is survived by her devoted and loving husband of almost 69 years, Willie, son Brian (Adeline) Hearn, daughter Dianne (Don) Clark and grandchildren Devon & James Morin, (great grandson Hugo), Dustin Clark, Desi Clark, daughter Gail Coffey and grandchildren Brianne Coffey, Taylor (Meredith Farrell) Coffey, daughter Brenda (Dana) Buchart and grandchildren Kyle Buchart, Jocelyn Buchart, brother Norris (Phyllis) Nygaard, and sister Gertrude Nygaard. She was predeceased by her infant daughter Wendy Marie in June 1952 and son-in-law Dick Coffey in March 2006.

A Memorial Service for Mary will be held at Crossroads Christian Fellowship in Salmo on Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 1:00 p.m., with Pastors Jerry Weekes and Gerald Hutchman officiating. Bill Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Mary’s name and would be gratefully accepted by The Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation, 3 View Street, Nelson, BC, V1L 2V1.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors and third floor staff of Kootenay Lake Hospital for the excellent care that Mom - “my lady” - received during her last days. You have our deepest gratitude.

We love you, Mom, and will miss you forever. Our lives will never be the same without you.
