In loving memory ~
It is with a heavy, heavy heart that we share the news of the sudden passing of Mary-Jane on Sunday, April 27th.
She was a loyal friend, devoted spouse, and the most loving Mum and Gamma. She loved clever word-play, reading, socializing, and saw magic in everything. Well known for her jokes and a multitude of stories, she was always making people around her laugh. Her bright green eyes would twinkle while she waited for you to "get" her jokes...and she got such joy in other people's laughter. She loved shoes and hats, makeup, jewellery, and dressing up for *any* event. She would much rather be overdressed than underdressed. She was sometimes 'too much' for our little town, but she was spectacular. The world is a little less magical now.
Mary-Jane is survived by her ever-devoted husband of 51 years, Peter. She is also survived by her daughters, Christine and Moriah (Bruce). Mary-Jane will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Rue, Niko, Amelia, Silas, Lydia, and Callie. They were all her favourites. She is also survived by her siblings John, Steven, Betty, Mark, and Judy (Pat). Mary-Jane is pre-deceased by her father John Collins, her mother Betty Collins, her brother David Collins, her nephews Clint and Phillip, and her starbaby grandchild, Valancy.
We will be having a memorial service on Monday, August 11th, 1pm-4pm at the Trail Royal Canadian Legion Branch #11 at 2141 Columbia Avenue to properly say goodbye. Ladies are encouraged to wear a fabulous hat to honour her. Andreas Schmitz of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
