It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our mom after her courageous battle with cancer.
Myrt is survived by her devoted and loving husband George, her brother Carl (predeceased by Jenny 2009), sister Irene (Bob), Her five children Darrell (Bob), Charryll (Rick), Randy, Sandy (Deanna), Andy (Sheri), 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, stepchildren Steve and Kim, numerous nieces and nephews, many friends, and her faithful dog Schatzi.
Mom was born in Galahad, Alberta to Charles and Ruby Mitchell.
Mom enjoyed reading, gardening, volunteering at the local thrift store, helping her friends and neighbours, and sharing her kindness wherever she went. Mom will always be remembered for her loving and generous heart and her unconditional acceptance of everyone she met.
Her grandchildren were her most important source of joy and love and they will always think of their gramma with love and affection. Mom’s grandchildren were everything to her. They provided her with so much love and pride. As Jared says, “Nothing is forever, but our love is. Thank you gramma, for making our lives amazing”.
We will miss our loving mom dearly but find comfort in knowing she is now with her special little angel, Mikel.
Myrt’s family would like to express their utmost gratitude to Dr. Libby McCoid and Dr. Marnie Jacobsen. As well as MaryLou, Teresa, and all of the nurses and homecare support aides, for their exceptional care during our difficult time while fulfilling mom’s final wishes at home.
As per mom’s request, there will be no funeral. A celebration of her life will take place this April, exact date to be announced. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements. You are invited to leave a personal message of
