Nicola Lelio Civitarese

Nicola Lelio Civitarese was 93 when he passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2022 at Poplar Ridge Pavilion, Trail, BC.
Nicola was born in San Leonardo, Ortona, Italy on October 23rd, 1928. He immigrated to Canada in 1950. He settled in Trail where he was employed at Cominco until his retirement in 1988.
In 1957 he travelled back to Italy where he met and married the love of his life, Onorina Pascetta. Together they had two daughters and made a wonderful home in East Trail.
Nicola had a creative drive which manifested itself in his oil paintings and building miniature architectural models of his childhood home town. He also loved reading, classical music, "gadgets", gardening, making wine and cooking.
Nicola (Lelio) is survived by his wife Onorina, daughter Sandra, son-in-law Ben, grandchildren; Lucas, Jordan, and Madeline, great-grandson, Theodore, his sister Irma Sacino; along with many other relatives. He was predeceased by his daughter Sylvia, parents Gustavo, Maria, and sister Dina.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish on Friday, February 25th, at 10:30 am, Trail, BC, followed by a graveside service with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. The family will not be hosting visitors following the funeral. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
