Olga Bilesky

August 14, 1924 – January 12, 2020
Born in Trail, BC on August 14, 1924 and fell asleep in death in Campbell River, BC on January 12, 2020.
Mom was well known for her quick wit, sense of humour and her competitive spirit. She was very fashionable; knowing not to wear white after Labour Day, purse and shoes had to match as well as necklaces and earrings. Every hair was in place and she could have taught Emily Post a thing or two about manners.
Her unwavering faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses sustained her through many of life’s trials especially her failing health in later years.
Mom was predeceased by her son, Gerry Beer and his wife Nicole formerly of Port Alberni BC, son-in-law Don Jesse formerly of Campbell River BC, her parents John and Julia Bilesky, brother Andy Bilesky, Sister Jean Lindsey and her husband Ted, Brother Julie Bilesky and his wife Shirley, sisters-in-law Marion Bilesky and Lillian Bilesky.
Survived by her daughters Janice Jesse of Campbell River, Lynda Snagg (Eric) of Campbell River as well as nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Also mourning her loss: her brothers Victor Bilesky of Spokane and Jim Bilesky of Castlegar as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family gathering to be held in Trail later in the Spring.

My heart is slowly mending
With time the pain recedes
And words now said in comfort
Will swallow up my needs
The joy of life eternal
My mother now awaits
Asleep she is and resting
The word of God relates
But one amazing moment
With joy I’ll look upon
The day of resurrection
My mother’s pain is gone
She’ll walk among her flowers
The birds will now be free
To perch upon her fingers
What joy I then will see
So for Jehovah’s Kingdom
My heart will now await
He’ll bring to life a banquet
And fill my mother’s plate.
