Paolo Della Siega

October 22, 2019
It is with great sadness that the family of Paolo Della Siega announce his passing on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the age of 91. Paolo was born on January 25, 1928 in Morsano, al Tagliamento, Italy. He immigrated to Trail in 1951 and was joined by his wife Maria and eldest daughter Bruna the following year. Upon arriving in Trail, he started his career with Fame Brick Construction and then joined the Bricklayer Crew at Cominco. Paolo was an extraordinary and talented bricklayer who learned his trade and work ethic from his father at a very young age. He retired from Cominco in 1990 with 31 years of service.
In his spare time Paolo enjoyed creek fishing, gardening, watching the Blue Jays and anything hockey. He devoted countless hours helping his daughters and family with anything he was asked of. He was an avid sports fan and his grandchildren’s number one fan. Paolo was an extremely hard-working man who was very proud of his family and took great pride in the appearance of his yard and garden.
Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife Maria of 68 years, his children; Bruna Horcoff (John), Eileen Dent (Charles), Doreen Mailey (Ken) and Lola Mondin (John), his grandchildren; Shawn (Cindy), Travis (Paoloina), Tyler, Leah, Paolo (Stacie), Stephanie (Lee), Carolyn, (Jeff), Doreen, Marcella and
Shauna, six great-grandchildren, his brother Alvise of Trail, three siblings in Italy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
