Patricia Lillie Olive Fillmore passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2016 with her family at her bedside. Pat was born in Hazelton, BC to William Richard Henley and Sarah Olive Henley on March 29, 1920. Her father was a member of the BC Provincial Police force and served in numerous communities resulting in many interesting stories as the family homes were often the police stations with jails in the back. While living in Salmo, Pat was crowned the May Pole Queen. The family settled in Penticton where pat went to high school. She served in the Airforce during WWll as an accounting clerk and met William (Bill) Fillmore who was in the Navy. They were married in 1944 and were transferred to Comox where Gail was born. After the war they moved to Penticton where Rick was born, on to Rossland where Lorne was born, and finally to Trail where Sally was born. Pat was very involved in the school PTA’s as secretary treasurer. She was accomplished in sewing, needlework, artwork and playing the piano. Amazingly at 96 ½ years old, she made an afghan for her granddaughter’s wedding present. She worked at Kresges, the CS Williams clinic and was the first nursing unit clerk in the new Extended Care in 1970 and went on to work in the Daly Unit where she was highly respected by staff and patients. Pat was very involved in the art club, Ladies Auxilliary to the Trail Legion, and has been a Royal Canadian Legion member for 35 years. She and Bill enjoyed travelling, especially to Hawaii.

Pat was predeceased by her parents, sister Lydia, niece Marnie, brother Eric, daughter Gail and husband Bill. She is survived by her children Rick (Arleen), Lorne (Sandra), Sally (Sam) and nephew David (Liz). Pat has 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

The family would like to express appreciation to Dr’s Smith and Toews, the ambulance crew, emergency room staff, 3rd floor nursing staff, Mountainside Village and especially to the Rosewood Village staff for their care and love to Mom.

Pat was a wonderful Mom and Grandmother, sharing her stories with her family.

We will miss you so much Mom. Love you. XOXO
