March 1, 1947 - June 7, 2024
In loving memory ~
With great sadness and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patsy Flegel on June 7, 2024.
Patsy was born on March 1, 1947, in Rossland, B.C., the fourth of five daughters to Zoilo and Sophie Pighin. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered as a loving mother to her children Tracy, Lee-Ann (Jim), and Robert (Tomo), and a devoted and generous grandmother to Connor, Tyler, James and Chloe. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Priscilla Flegel; brothers-in-law Rick, Ted, and Bill Flegel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband and soulmate of 55 years, Bob; her parents; and her sisters Norma, Joanne, Lucille, and Geri.
Patsy was an avid reader (and coffee drinker), an expert with a crochet hook, and a master with a garden spade. She was most content and at peace out on the deck with a good book or digging in the dirt tending to her flowers in healthier times. And there was nothing she liked more than a big family gathering (or an excuse to cook a turkey). Family meant everything to her.
Patsy was a true people person. She could strike up a conversation with anyone and was always happy to make a new friend or catch up with an old one. Most importantly, she was a natural-born caregiver, always willing to offer a compassionate hand to friends and family in times of need. She was indeed lucky to have this compassion reciprocated to her by so many friends, family, and healthcare professionals as her health started failing in the last few years.
We would like to thank Patsy's friends and neighbours at Esling Park Lodge for their companionship and conversations. We would especially like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Richard and Carol Migneault for all the help, kindness, and friendship they have provided our mom.
We will truly miss her. Rest in peace, Mom. Love you.
No service will be held at Patsy's request. Sarah Stevens of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, donations in Patsy's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
