Paula Ann McIntyre of Trail, BC passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail after a ten-year battle with cancer.  Paula was a wife, mother, daughter, and friend to many and was an amazing lady who was gracious, kind and giving.

Paula was born on January 12, 1963 in Brisbane, Australia to Rod and Pam (Pavey) Lihou.

Paula grew up in Sandgate, Australia. She attended Sandgate state High School in Sandgate (Queensland). After high school she began work for the Queensland Railways as a Drafting Assistant where she worked for 13 years. 

Paula married Shane McIntyre in 1983 in Brisbane, Australia. They were happily married for 30 years. Paula and Shane moved to Canada in 1993 to Pastor at Harvest City Church in Vancouver then to Trail in 1999 at Gateway Christian Life Centre. She lived in Trail 14 years and served along-side Shane as he Pastored the church and the community of greater Trail. Paula enjoyed swimming, camping and most all her children. Paula served the people of Trail with the Friday Kid’s Zone program for children for the past 13 years, being a camp counselor every summer.

Paula is survived by her spouse Pastor Shane McIntyre, her daughter Eleasah, her son David, her parents Rod and Pam Lihou, her sisters Diane Marks (Dave) of Brisbane, Australia, Janice Lenaduzzi (Paul) of Brisbane, Australia, and her nieces and nephews and other relatives.

A Memorial Service will be held at Gateway Christian Life Centre, 8320 Highway 3B Trail at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy the family requests memorial donations be made to Gateway Christian Life Centre – Children’s Ministry at 8320 Highway 3B Trail, BC. The family deeply appreciates and thanks the many expressions of love and prayers conveyed by our friends and community.
