In loving memory ~
Pete passed away at the age of 86 on April 30, 2025, in Kamloops, B.C. Born in Trail, he spent six years in the Army then worked at Cominco in the Silver Refinery. He married Janet Payette in 1966 and they raised two daughters.
Pete was known for being a quiet and stable family man. In his younger years, he played guitar and clarinet and spent happy winter hours with his brothers at "the Boom." They visited family in England and enjoyed Hawaii, but their favourite times were on the Shuswap with their sailboat and especially camping at Whatsan Lake.
Both he and Jan were regulars at Birchbank Golf Course. They also loved to entertain their many friends and family at their home in Sunningdale.
Pete is predeceased by his wife Jan, parents Lil and Mills Baldassi, brothers Bob and Jack and numerous aunts, uncles and in-laws. He is survived by daughters Renee (Sheldon) of Sparwood and Rhonda (former son-in-law Drew) Stainton of Kamloops; grandchildren: Garrett, Avery, Dylan and Carson; his sister Lana Rodlie (Dan) and brother in-law Dan McKechnie, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on July 19 from 1-4 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, 2141 Columbia Ave., Trail.
The family wishes to thank Overlander Extended Care Facility, Alzheimer's Unit (Blueberry Ward) in Kamloops and especially the nurses and care aids for their kindness towards their dad.
