Philip Richard Lifely

January 28, 1925 - September 17, 2017

It is with great sorrow and deepest heartbreak that we announce the passing of Philip Lifely.

He was born on January 28, 1925 in Frome, Somerset, England and passed away on September 17, 2017 in Trail, BC.

Philip was predeceased by his first love, Joyce Lifely and their daughter Patricia and brothers Pete, John and Harry.

He is survived by his cherished children; Tony (Jaynee Hagyard) of Clearwater, Linda (Gordon) Leippi of Sidney and Susan Lifely of Salmo, his grandchildren; Kail, Kaity (Kelly), Travis (Lucy), Stephanie, Angie (John) and Donavin (Renee), great grandchildren; Rosie, Trennin, Tarrin, Damian and Deacin.

He is also survived by his second wife Irene (Burns) Lifely and her extended family his brother, Benjamin Lifely of Fruitvale and sister June of England.

Phil loved camping, fishing up on Kootenay Lake, hunting, curling and playing cards with his buddies at the Fruitvale curling rink.

He loved spending time on the farm raising sheep, cattle and pigs.

He also raised Labrador retriever dogs for many years.

He worked for the village of Fruitvale from 1963-1980 and then for C.P. Railway until his retirement.

Phil was a World War II veteran and a longtime member of the Fruitvale and then Trail Legions.

An interment will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Fruitvale Memorial Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital for their care of Dad.
