March 21, 1937 - July 29, 2019
Primo was born on March 21, 1937 in Trail, BC and passed away in Trail, after a battle with occupational cancer, on July 29, 2019.
He was predeceased by his parents Pietro and Assunta, his sister Verna and his three brothers Louis, Geno and Ernie.
Primo is survived by his wife of 57 years, Pat, his daughter Tammy (Danny), son Terry (Kecia) and grandchildren Ally, Jarod and Kieran.
Primo worked at Cominco as a bricklayer until his retirement in 1992. He loved sports, especially hockey, baseball/fastball, golf, lacrosse and curling. He was a fierce competitor, but you'd never know it by his demeanor away from the field or rink. He was a kind, humble man who volunteered his time at the golf course and curling rink whenever he could. He coached Little League and Babe Ruth ball as well as minor hockey. As a young man Primo played hockey for both the Rossland Warriors and Trail Smoke Eaters. He was a Smokies season ticket holder and cheered on his former team from the railing on the west side of Cominco Arena.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff at both the Trail Regional Hospital and Kelowna General Hospital for their kindness and care of Primo during his illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 6th, 2019 at 10:30am at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Trail with Father Nino Toyu celebrating. Interment to follow at Mountainview Cemetery. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family's register at www.myalternatives.ca
