November 20, 1927 - February 15, 2019
Ray was born on November 20th, 1927 and passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side February 15th, 2019.

He is survived by Ruth, his loving wife of 62 years; his children Keith (Patti), Brenda (Roger), Michelle, Sharon (Bob), Danny (Marlo); and his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ray is predeceased by his son Timmy and grandson Daniel.

Ray led a busy life working mining, blasting, and construction -many of these years spent on BC power projects. He was proudly a founding member of the Rock & Tunnel Union (local 168 now 1611). Ray was an extremely hard worker and expected his crews (and family) to demonstrate the same strong work ethic. This earned him many affectionate workplace nicknames such as Tasmanian Devil, The Coquihalla Sheik, and The Colonel.

Ray loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, prospecting, fly fishing and camping and passed that passion on to his children. In retirement, he honed his gardening and wine making skills and kept the family well supplied.

He will be sorely missed by his family and many friends.

There will be no service as he requested. A simple private family celebration of life will be held in the summer. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family's register at www.myalternatives.ca
