Jul 27, 1934 - Nov 18, 2017
The family of Reno Zanier sadly announces his sudden passing on November 18, 2017 with his family by his side. Reno was born in Trail, BC to Giordano and Maria Zanier.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Loretta; son Pat, grandchildren Lauren (Kevin Limbert), Matthew, Taylor (Danny Vlanich), and Jordan; son Barry (Aileen), grandchildren Taryn (Andrew Jenner), great grandson Graden and granddaughters Kailyn and Kolby; son Michael (Maria), grandchildren Josef and Manda; daughter Lynne (Bevan Blatchford), grandchildren Natasha, Alyssa and Nicholas; sister Diana DeBiasio, sister-in-law Irene Tambellini and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Reno is predeceased by his parents Giordano and Maria, his parents-in-law Fortunato and Arcolina Tambellini, his sister Gina Zanier, brothers-in-law Jimmy DeBiasio and Adolf Tambellini, daughter-in-law Janis Zanier, granddaughter Kailee Zanier and nephew Steven DeBiasio.

Reno's greatest love was his family. Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and grandchildren, and no family gathering was without his quick jokes and witty sense of humour. Sports were his second passion. He developed an early interest in being a goaltender, which lead to a career in professional hockey. Even after hanging up his skates, he remained a passionate fan of the Vancouver Canucks and the Trail SmokeEaters.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Davies, Dr. Cochran, Dr. Fisher and all the nursing staff who provided exceptional care to Reno.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 10:30 am at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Trail with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Donations in Reno's memory may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca
