June 9, 1946 - December 9, 2018
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Eva Marjorie Barrett on December 9, 2018 in Trail, BC. She was born June 9, 1946 in Burns Lake, BC.
Eva was predeceased by her husband Danny Barrett. She is survived by her sister-in-law Hilda Barrett (Merritt, BC), brother-in-law Dave (Rita) Barrett (Fruitvale, BC) and numerous nieces and nephews to whom she was a second mother as she had no children of her own.
She lived in Burns Lake until she was 18, and after losing her parents, two brothers and two sisters, she moved to Fruitvale where she found the love of her life, Danny. They married in 1968 and had 40 years together. They had a full life of camping, fishing and travelling.
After losing Danny in 2009, she became involved in many things such as The Pythian Sisters, the Royal Canadian Legion, and of course her church, the Anglican Church of Fruitvale. She was very proud of working herself up to a Deacon. She was now "The Reverend".
In her last many years, she volunteered for Meals on Wheels and spent time taking neighbours and friends to appointments. She still fished, camped and travelled with the church.
The family would like to thank her many friends, her church and all the medical staff in both the Hospital and Columbia View Lodge for the great care for these last three months.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Friday, December 21, 2018 at 12:00 noon at St. John's Anglican Church in Fruitvale. Brent Long of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Servicestm has been entrusted with arrangements.
