Rita D'Andrea was born on April 21, 1931 in Castions di Zoppola, Italy and passed away on March 13, 2019 in Trail, BC.
Rita loved her family above all else. Next to her family she learned to love gardening and all of its challenges, from growing plants and trees that she was told would not survive, to designing and displaying her creativity in rock, wood, and cement.
She loved to travel, golf, and to walk daily around the neighbourhood and along the river. She was a voracious reader, storyteller, a great intellect, and a beautiful poet that had a true love for life. It is so hard to put into words all that was Ritzo, and none come to mind that would sincerely do her justice.
Rita is survived by her four children; Christine, Paul (Rita), David (Liz) and Stephanie, grandchildren; Jacinta, Bryce, Keith, Richard, Cassie, Erica, Rene, Darren and Trisha, great-grandchildren; Jamie, Mason, Connor, Oliver, Madysan, Avery, Ryah, Rowan, Bee, Farley and Rayna, her brother/sister- in-law Ron (Andre) D'Andrea and Joy (George) Merlo, her cousin Bruno (Suzanne) Quattrin and many other cousins in Italy.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard D'Andrea, parents Adele and Oswaldo Cantarutti and Yolanda and Oliver D'Andrea and her sister Edda (Joe) Halak.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at 11 am at "Carberry's Chapel", 1298 Pine Avenue, Trail, BC with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services TM has been entrusted with arrangements.
