With heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Whyte on the morning of January 10, 2015. Bob, age 82, was born to Earl and Elizabeth Whyte in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. After almost 30 years of prairie life, Bob moved to Trail, BC to find work and start a new life. It was there that Bob met the love of his life, Ella Marie (Joyce) Startup.

In 1961 Bob started his 30 years of work at Cominco and promptly married Joyce on June 5th of that year. The two lovebirds moved to Fruitvale, BC, bought a home and raised three wonderful boys. Bob was a member of the Eagles club, and also enjoyed over 30 years as a member of the Lion’s club. Once they were empty nesters, Bob and Joyce moved back to Trail.

When Bob wasn’t playing Bingo, or having coffee at the mall with Joyce and her sisters, you could find him at a church breakfast or tea, or spending hours at home with his ‘paint by numbers’.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and his two younger brothers Jack and Jimmy, his younger sister Judy and his favourite dog Redneck.

Bob will be dearly missed by his wife Joyce (Trail, BC); sons Harry (Dulcey) of Anacortes, WA, Brad of Trail, BC and Jodi (Cathy) of Richmond, BC, grandchildren; Jazz, Ben, Kylie, Skylyr, Ross, Quinn and Jenna and great grandchildren Charlee, Georgia and Clover. Many other loving in laws, nieces and nephews were a big part of Bob’s life too. The family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who helped to care for Bob, especially Dr. Stanley who always treated Bob with special care and attention.

At Bob’s request there will be no service. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
