Bert passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at Crossroads Hospice on June 20, 2012. He was predeceased in 2009 by his beloved wife, Carmen, with whom he shared sixty wonderful years. Bert was born on December 5, 1924 in Trail, BC where he and Carmen met and fell in love. In 1982 Bert retired after 40 years with Cominco and with Carmen moved to Coquitlam to be closer to their children Linda (Jack) and Gordon (Wendy). Over the years they welcomed their cherished grandchildren Gregory, Vanessa (Jason), Carmen (Christian), Lauren (Tyler) and Brian. Bert was a doting Grandpa, and he and Carmen spent many happy years caring for their grandchildren. Recently Bert was thrilled with the arrival of his two great grandchildren Chloe and Wyatt. Bert will be greatly missed by his family and will be remembered by all who knew him for his kindness and his sense of humour. Bert was predeceased by his brothers Bill and Ralph and is survived by his brothers Ronald and Brian. A private celebration of Bert’s life will be held by family and friends.
