BALDASSI, Robert Walter (Bob) passed away suddenly in Cranbrook, B.C. on Sept. 25, 2011. Bob was born in Vancouver, B.C. on Feb. 3, 1936, and was raised in Trail, B.C. He spent his working career in Vancouver in industrial sales and later as an operator at a book binding company.
Bob retired and moved to Cranbrook, where he spent his last years camping, playing hockey and having good times with his buddies.
In his younger years, Bob coached hockey, golfed, and entertained family and friends with his guitar playing.
He is survived by his children: Ken (Bobby), of Maple Ridge, Candice (Tim) Storvold, of High River, Alta.,
Frank (Vera), of Pitt Meadows, and Blake (Marie), of Maple Ridge; 12 grandchildren and nine great
grandchildren; brother Peter (Jan); sister Lana (Dan) Rodlie, both of Trail; extended family and good friends.
For Bob's many friends in Cranbrook, a get-together was held on Sunday Oct. 9, toraise a glass in his honor at his favourite watering hole, the Cranbrook Hotel.
There will also be a gathering to celebrate Bob's life in Trail at the home of Pete and Jan Baldassi on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to a youth sports organization may be made in Bob's name.
He and his voice will be missed.
