Rodger was born and raised in Vulcan, Alberta. He then went on to complete his degree in meteorology in Edmonton, Alberta. Rodger enjoyed farming in the Vulcan area with his family and went on to work for the oil industry which led to a trucking career for many companies. He then started his own trucking business that took him and his family to Ymir, BC in 1969.
Rodger enjoyed golfing, curling, playing hockey, hang gliding and many other sports activities. He also enjoyed music and playing the piano.
Rodger is survived by his wife Carleen Roebuck of 63 years, his daughter Kim Sansome (Paul) and his brother Warner, 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Edith Roebuck and his son Kevin Roebuck in 2015.
