It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our grandfather and father-in-law, Roland Pott, on November 30, 2010, at Columbia View Lodge in Trail.

Roland is survived by his son-in-law, Don Berriault; grand-daughters, Kara Berriault and Krista (Peter) Dittmann; and many family friends. He was predeceased by his wife, Ann; and daughter, Sharon Berriault.

Roland was born in Dominion City, Manitoba in 1925. He enlisted with the Canadian Military at the age of seventeen, and spent three years in combat overseas during World War II. Roland resided throughout Manitoba and Saskatchewan until moving to Kelowna in 1980. In 2006, he moved to the Trail area to be closer to his daughter.

Roland was a loving and caring husband and father who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, but most of all, he loved hearing about the adventures of his grand-daughters.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Al Grywacheski of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Roland’s memory to a charity of your choice.

A very special thank you to the Nursing Staff at Columbia View Lodge, Dr. Edge, and everyone at Mountainside Village for their care and support over the past few years.

Your condolences will be approved within one business day. You will need a valid Facebook account. Please email us if you have any questions.
