MUSSIO, Sergio Gino was born on January 31, 1931 in San Lorenzo, Udine, Italy and passed away in Trail, BC on January 22, 2012.

He immigrated to Canada in 1933, grew up in Michel, BC and graduated from UBC as a Professional Engineer in 1955. He worked 2 years in Peru, next in Flin Flon, Manitoba, and then Edmonton, Alberta. He joined the Edmonton Ski Club where he met his future wife, Margaret Wallace. He tolerated this Edmonton job until they were married and their honeymoon was moving to Trail where he lived ever since.

Sergio was very much an outdoors man. If he wasn’t hunting, he was fishing, boating, prospecting, camping, hiking, snow shoeing, picking berries and mushrooms, cutting trails many of which are in Warfield, and just about anything else one could do outside except swimming. That he did try but he floated like a lead balloon.

He was predeceased by his father, Pietro Lino Mussio, his mother and step-father, Ida and Angelo Zanon, his sister, Deloris Marbach, his nephew Leonard Marbach, and his aunt and uncle Delfina and Settimo Mussio. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Margaret, and three children, their spouses, and the grandchildren, Brenda (Bruce, Kelsey and Brandon), Wesley (Penny, Madison and Devon), and Russell (Nancy, Allison and Jasper). There is also a cousin, Lucaino Mussio (Laura), and a friend whom they first met as babies when in Italy, John D’Andrea (Susan).

There will be a non-religious Celebration of Sergio’s life on January 31, 2012 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the Riverbelle in Trail. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family and friends would like to thank all the medical people for their astronomical help and care through this difficult time.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca
