1927-2013

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sheola, our much loved wife, mother and grandmother who passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family in Trail on April 29th, 2013 at the age of 85. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Burc, sons John (Annette), Greag (Lori), Harvie (Tracy), her grandchildren, John, Daryle, Jaime, Kelssay, Ashleigh and Cody.

Sheola was born in Rossland, Aug. 27th 1927. Mom married John Richard (Dick) Hurd and They spent 31 years together devoting their time to building their home in Montrose and raising their three sons. Sadly Dick passed away long before his time. On June 25, 1988 Sheola married Burc Haver. Sheola always felt lucky to have found love twice. They spent their time gardening, visiting family and friends and traveling the world. Together they created an award winning garden.

Sheola was a loving, caring, genuine person who loved to laugh and could carry on a good conversation as well as tell a good story. Sheola loved life...her favorite saying was "Life is good" and at every family gathering she would propose a toast to this. Her endless love for the outdoors and connection with family created many fond memories, gardening, camping, hiking and cheering on her grandchildren's MANY sporting events. As in life, Sheola was an inspiration to us all. During her year long battle with cancer she always maintained a dignified and positive outlook. In the face of death she approached each day with a positive attitude and a smile. She showed us all not just how to live but how to die with dignity. How we will miss her is indescribable, for to know her, was to love her. Sheola, Mom, Grandma we Love you, we miss you.

Mom's parting words were never good bye but always "BYE FOR NOW"

To commemorate her birthday a celebration of her life will be held on August 24th at 11:00am-4:00pm at the home of Greag and Lori Hurd, 1205 McLeod rd. Fruitvale B.C.

The Family would like to thank Dr. Aiken, Carlina, the staff and Dr.s at Riverside Medical Clinic for their incredible care and support during Mom's last year, Also all the love and support of friends and neighbours through this difficult time.
