It is with great sadness that the family shares the passing of Shirley Elizabeth Regnier at the age of 87 from a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She passed away peacefully at Eagle Ridge Hospital in Port Moody where the nurses and doctors did everything they could to make her as comfortable and free of pain as is possible. She has now joined her beloved husband, Jack Regnier, who left us in December 1999. She was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan but moved to Trail when a child and lived there for the rest of her life. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Ilott (Coquitlam) and grandsons, Sean Ilott (Coquitlam) and Derek Ilott (Vancouver). Many people in Trail will remember her many years volunteering for the Seniors Club (president for two years and helping/running the Friday cribbage afternoons for many years), helping out with the ” Best Years” monthly newsletter and the CNIB. At her request there will only be a cremation with no services. The family will be keeping her ashes in urns close to them and some will be later scattered in the Caribbean by the family as she so loved the many trips and cruises her and her daughter took there in the past sixteen years. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the B.C. Cancer Agency in hopes that a cure will be developed sooner rather than later so other families may not have the overwhelming grief we have. To Mom/Grandma/Granny

(written by Derek for all three of us)

This is to our love of the woman with shiny grey eyes

Letting you know that this love never dies

As daughter to mother you were also my best friend

So you have passed, but this is not the end

In my heart and my mind our love will abide

Your warmth and your kindness will be my best guide

Us grandsons will speak of you, always with caring

Through the good and the bad we always were sharing

You tried so hard, you gave it your all and you gave it your best

In our waking lives and in dreams we shall be

easy, knowing you are at rest
