Biagioni, Signey — IN MEMORIAM 1924 – 2011

“We never lose the ones we love

For even though they’re gone,

Within the hearts of those who care,

Their memory lingers on.”

The family of Signey Biagioni would like to share our memories of a special mother and friend.

Signey came to Trail from Stewart Valley, Saskatchewan as a young woman in 1941. In 1947 she married Joe and they had 3 children: Marillee, Glen and Gary.

Signey was involved in the community as a member of the IODE and the Rotary Anns. When the children were young she and Joe participated in a square dance group. For many years she managed the IODE Thrift Shop and served on the IODE executive. She enjoyed skiing, bowling and, after the children were grown, golfing. A favourite pastime was playing bridge with her friends.

Recently she moved from the family home near Gyro Park in East Trail where she and Joe raised their family. For many years Signey bravely endured health issues and several major surgeries. She passed away peacefully in her apartment at Castle Wood Village in Castlegar on March 30, 2011.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Marillee and Terry Campeau, Glen and Elaine Biagioni and Gary and Janet Biagioni; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of your choice. Respecting Signey’s request there will be no memorial service.
