Pearce: Stan passed away at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on November 15, 2010 following an automobile accident in Castlegar. He was born in Saskatoon, SK on March 26, 1929.

In the early years, Stan’s family moved west, first to Deer Park, BC and subsequently to Trail. He began his 39 year career with Cominco in 1947, rising to the position of Operator at the Phosphate Plant in Warfield. Stan retired in April 1986.

He was a devoted husband, stepfather, step-grandfather and step-great grandfather. Stan was predeceased by his two brothers Bev and Leonard Pearce, and by his wife Irene. Throughout their life together, Stan and Irene travelled all over North American in their camper. They also enjoyed dining out and especially visiting Chewelah for a spot of gambling.

Stan is survived by his stepson Robert (Debbie) Barton of Brampton, ON; sisters-in-law Ilene Roberts of Calgary, AB and Silvia Pearce of Vancouver, BC; step grandchildren Stephanie Miscampbell and Julia Kruetzmann, both of Whitby, ON, and Ellery Barton of Scarborough, ON; nieces Christina Clements and Rhonda Pearce of Vancouver, BC; nephews Russell, Steven and Brian Pearce of Vancouver, BC; four step great-grandchildren and numerous cousins in the United States.

Cremation has taken place. It was Stan’s request that no service be held and that his ashes be scattered over the Columbia River at Deer Park. Al Grywacheski of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.
